2026 NFL Preseason Week 1 Schedule: Dates, Times, TV Channels, How to Watch

The NFL preseason continues with its first full slate of 2026. Preseason Week 1 features all 32 teams across 16 games from Thursday, Aug. 13 through Saturday, Aug. 15. Six games will air nationally on NFL Network, while the rest will be available through local team affiliates.

How Can I Watch NFL Preseason Week 1?

NFL Network will carry six Week 1 games nationally: Packers-Steelers, Titans-49ers, Buccaneers-Jets, Browns-Bears, Rams-Chiefs and Cowboys-Seahawks. The other games will air on participating teams’ local broadcast affiliates. Local listings can vary by market, so fans should check their team or television provider before kickoff.

How Can I Stream NFL Preseason Week 1 or Watch Without Cable?

NFL+ offers live national and out-of-market preseason games, subject to local blackouts, device restrictions and availability rules. In-market games may also be available through participating clubs’ websites or apps. Streaming television services that include NFL Network and local affiliates may carry games depending on the viewer’s package and market.

Although Week 1 does not include a national FOX broadcast window, fans can prepare for FOX’s upcoming NFL coverage and stream eligible games with FOX One.

Does NFL Preseason Week 1 Count Toward the Standings?

No. Preseason results do not count toward a team’s regular-season record. The games give teams an opportunity to evaluate rookies, new additions and position battles before the regular season begins.

How Many Preseason Games Does Each NFL Team Play?

Most teams play three preseason games. The Carolina Panthers and Arizona Cardinals each play four in 2026 because they also participated in the Pro Football Hall of Fame Game on Aug. 6.
